1.Research
Research the energy efficient, tax crediteligible products below and determine your needs.
2.Decide
Visit the Energy Star website at http://www.energystar.gov/taxcreditand consult your Tax Advisor for full details about your eligibility for afederal tax credit under the "American Recovery & Reinvestment Act of2009".
3.Shop
Purchase select energy-saving products from1/1/09 – 12/31/10 from Fairview Millwork. Keep your receipts and print out acopy of the correct Manufacturing Certification Statement***.
4.File
File for tax credit on your qualifyingenergy efficient home improvements placed in service by 12/31/10. Consult yourTax Advisor for appropriate forms.
*** A ManufacturingCertification Statement is a signed statement from the manufacturer certifyingthat the product or component qualifies for the tax credit. The IRS encouragesmanufacturers to provide these Certifications on their website to facilitateidentification of qualified products. Taxpayers must keep a copy of thecertification statement for their records, but do not have to submit a copywith their tax return.
